Checking out the spaceship late at night before the shift change, which is what marks the line between day and night up here anyway, so it’s actually late into the shift, and you’re by yourself and know that you’re alone; however, empty ships are like basements after the light is turned out -- but the job still needs to be done, and you can be logical about this if you use the engine noise and move with the ship's cadence so you go undetected if there does happen to be an intruder, or if you are discovered to be the intruder, like from the plot of a much deeper movie, which then makes you think more deeply of this much deeper movie as you move into the deepest parts of the ship, finding your pace increasing as you focus less on the important task (that is becoming difficult to recall, almost on the tip of your tongue) and more on the hypothetical situation that you might not remember what side you’re on, or if you’re supposed to repair or sabotage whatever it is you are now surely going in circles to find, wishing you had thought to leave the end of a thread at the entrance of this labyrinth.
